
Nominations
Nominations are open to all male and female athletes and coaches who have distinguished themselves in interscholastic athletic competition as part of a St. Mary, Regina, Purcell, Marian, or Purcell Marian High School team.

Qualifications
Athlete
Distinguished himself/herself in the field of athletics while a student at Purcell Marian High School or one of our merger schools. Criteria considerations should include All-Conference, All-City, All-State, All-American recognition.
Professional or Amateur sports, outstanding college accomplishments and collegiate participation may be taken into account but may not take the place of high school accomplishments.
Nominees must have demonstrated good citizenship while in high school and after leaving high school.
Nominees must be out of high school for at least ten (10) years
Nominees must have graduated from Purcell Marian or one of our merger schools
Coach
A former coach (head coach or assistant coach) with at least five (5) years of service at Purcell Marian High School or one of our merger schools, who has contributed to the success of Purcell Marian High School athletes over a period of years may be considered a candidate to the Hall of Fame.
Nominees must have demonstrated good citizenship while working at Purcell Marian as well as before and after their time at PMHS.
Teams
Teams must somehow have distinguished themselves above and beyond the normal standards. These may include:
undefeated seasons
league/district/regional/ state championships
state tournament appearances
Teams must have been at least ten (10) years prior
Once presented as an eligible nominee, a candidate who is not elected shall
automatically be reconsidered annually until he/she has been considered for five years.
Thereafter, re-nomination may occur at any time.
Nominations are due April 15th.
Special Awards
The special awards listed below were created to honor individuals who have been an outstanding model of success, were greatly successful after their high school career, and/or made significant contributions to the PMHS Athletic Department and community over a period of time.
Brother Lawrence Eveslage Award
Presented to an individual who has been an outstanding model of success while consistently exemplifying the values of honesty, character, discipline and loyalty that Brother Eveslage found so important.
Brother Bill Schroeder Award
Presented to a Cavalier Alumnus, who has achieved a great deal of athletic success either as a player, coach, or administrator well after his/her high school career was completed.
Dr. Paul W. Stickley Award
Presented to a Cavalier benefactor who has supported efforts of Purcell Marian High School through the spirit of service as exemplified through the life of Paul Stickley, a graduate of the Purcell class of 1943.
There may be only one award recipient for each award yearly. Purcell Marian may choose not to award one or more of the awards.
Recognition
A digital Kiosk located on Purcell Marian’s campus will be the official site and archives of the Purcell Marian Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame Induction will be held annually on the Purcell Marian campus the second Thursday in October.
Inductees will receive a plaque and vest provided by Purcell Marian.
Three inductees will be chosen in addition to the special award inductees. An additional athletic inductee may be chosen in the place of a special award inductee if it is not being awarded that year.
The Hall of Fame Committee shall select not more than one team in any year and may choose not to select any team.
Inductees and the Hall of Fame Ceremony will be highlighted on the Purcell Marian athletics website and through communication from Purcell Marian High School.
Selection
In collaboration with Purcell Marian High School, the hall of fame committee reviews nominations and selects inductees.
All selected inductees will be presented to Purcell Marian High School for final approval.
Committee
Hall of Fame committee members make up a cross section of Purcell Marian High School alumni, retirees and community members. The committee will ordinarily comprise a minimum of five members to a maximum of 7, with seats to be filled on an as-needed basis.
A member of the Purcell Marian athletic department and the Hall of Fame chairperson are permanent members of the committee and will both serve as co-chairs.

Purcell Marian High School may remove anyone from the Purcell Marian Athletic Hall of Fame in the event that the school determines, in its reasonable opinion, the circumstances have changed such that the individual associated would adversely impact the reputation, image, mission or integrity of Purcell Marian and/or is inconsistent with the School’s values.
